Hello my name is Paulina Reimer. I live in Vauxhall Alberta, which is an hour and a half north of Sweet Grass Montana. I come from a family of 8 and have 4 brothers, one who is married and are expecting there first child J and 1 sister. I am the third oldest. I was born in México and moved to Canada when I was 9 years old. This changed my whole life around. Had to learn a whole new language and the culture was very different from what I was used to. I gave my life to Christ at a very young age, 7 I think. For as long as I could remember my parents took me to church and sent me to a Christian school where I learned that Jesus had died on the cross for me and that’s where I gave my life to him.
This past March I graduated from Steinrich Bible School in México, which I had attended for the past 4 winters. Now that I’ve been back at the local grocery store working, everyone seems to have been asking me what I was going to do next and I didn’t know until I came across AIM. So I’m still in the Limbo stage of my life. Not sure what I am going to do after I come back from the trip. When I’m not at work, I help my mom bake almost anything, really enjoy working with food. Reading, playing volleyball, card games, board games and just spending time with my wonderful family and friends. And of course watching a “chick flick “ with my girl friends.
My family is a very important part of my life. While moving from one place to another we have all become very close and are almost inseparable at times. One of the things I really enjoy is going on family trips, camping, visiting family and friends in Mexico and Ontario. Almost 3 years ago my brother John died in a car accident in the states. This was a very hard time for my whole family and me. My brother and I were very close, my first year of bible school he also went to school there so we got to spend a lot of time together when not in class. It was hard for me to see how God could take my brother from this earth when he had such a heart for Christ and felt like he needed to go to Mexico and serve Christ there. But God’s plans are not our plans and his ways are not our ways. Through all of this I learned to put my trust in God and had to also put it in my heart that God doesn’t make any mistakes, never has and never will.
In church I have thought Sunday school and the younger kids are the most fun to teach for me because they love to listen to stories and do crafts. I really being with the kids and spending time with them. Helping plan events for the youth pastor couple and other leader. This coming July weekend our youth is going to Calgary and sorting and handing out clothes to the homeless.
I am really excited to go on this trip, I have been telling so many people about this trip and can’t stop thinking about it. Looking forward to getting to know all of you guys and the great things the Lord has done in your lives and what He is going to do thought us as we minister to the people of Kenya.
