Hi everyone! My name is Jenna Mitchell. I currently live in Boise, ID with my family. My dad is a pastor and has had many great ministry opportunities so we have moved a lot. I was born in CA then we moved to ID then to WA then to IL then to AZ and now to ID again! I graduated from high school last year. I was home schooled and went to public school a bit too. I ended up getting my GED early in order to work and save money for college. My plan was to attend Moody Bible Institute this fall and study international ministries but unfortunately, I wasn't able to afford it this year. So now I have this INCREDIBLE opportunity to go on another trip with AIM! I went to Nicaragua last year on an Ambassador trip and loved it. You want to hear something kind of crazy though? I was originally supposed to go to Kenya! But I couldn't raise enough support so I had to go to Nica. It was an awesome experience but I've always wanted to go to Africa and now the opportunity has fallen into my lap!!ย
I work two part time jobs. I work at Moxie Java as a barista about six days a week and then I nanny part time two days a week. Working hard to make money for school!! I love to sing, act, play volleyball (I didn't say I was good at it), spend time with my family and friends and hear other people stories! I'm a sneaky introvert so when you first meet me, I might be a little quiet. But once you get me talking I can go on and on. I have a huge heart for broken people. Specifically Human Trafficking victims and orphans. My dream is to one day plant orphanages and safe homes over-seas that will provide protection, food, schooling, love and more for those in need. It's a big dream but it's going to happen.
I am so unbelievably excited for this trip. And pretty nervous. But the excitement weighs out the nerves. The longest I have been away from home alone was one month and that was last summer to Nica. So this will be quite the adventure! I am so excited to build relationships with all of you and with the people in Kenya! I can't wait to serve over there and be involved in some awesome stories.
